Fall, Where Are You?

Our usual fitness path is closed for the next two weeks for maintenance, so today we decided to run around the track. Running on a track is different and with it feeling like 90 degrees outside makes it even harder. I managed to make the first mile before stopping. The sun was sticking straight up at that point and I could feel it burning my face. Mile 2 I took in strides trying to motivate myself to make it to the finish. My running buddy paced me to the finish at that point because lets face it by mile 3, I still need all the motivation I can get! Finished in 36:19. I decided after today’s run I wanted to do sprints. We all did 5 sets of sprints tonight but that number will increase as the weeks drag on. I am just getting started!

I will be so glad when fall finally gets here. I run better with cooler temperatures. This Saturday I am running two 5k’s. I heard on the radio that it’s only supposed to be in the high 60’s. The cooler temps will make the Saturday night run that much better. I am looking forward to having one more good training run tomorrow before I rest for the two races Saturday. The goal is to get under 35 minutes in at least one of them.
