Finishing The Year Strong

We only have 7 weeks left in 2016! With the year coming to a close and 2017 quickly approaching, I am finalizing plans and mapping out the new year runs. So far in 2016 I have six 5k’s and three 8K’s left to race. I am still hoping to reach my goal of 29 minutes by the end of the year. This weekend I signed up for a boot camp that is going to help with speed and endurance. Two nights a week, I will be working on speed training, one night a week will be spin class, and the other night will be a group run through December.

Let’s talk 2017. I am so excited for the year ahead. I signed up for my first half marathon! I will be running the Chick-fil-a half on April 1, 2017. Perfect first half considering my love for the Chick-fil-a! Long distance training to prepare for the half starts in January. One of my favorite races is coming up in January, the Hot Chocolate 5K in Atlanta. I am also looking forward to running my first 10K in January.

I am now a member of the Atlanta Track Club. Therefore, I have my sights set on running the Peachtree Road Race on the 4th of July.

As of now, I am finishing up planning my larger runs for the 2017 year. I can’t wait to share with you the journey ahead to becoming a half marathoner!

Next up, Lions Club Run for Sight 5K.
