Race Recap: Lions Club Run For Sight 5K

Today’s run was a lot of fun! So many great friends out on the course with us. The running community is why I have so much fun doing this. It was a fairly nice course, but had several inclines. The inclines are what knocked me out of having a good clock time. I was extremely disappointed. I want to get that PR so bad. I put in a lot of work last week and didn’t see it pay off today. I started off feeling great and made it past mile 1 without slowing down. The first incline wasn’t bad, I ran up it. The second and third is what slowed me down. Once I got to the last incline, I knew I wasn’t going to beat my time. I finished today in 34:20. This week I’m going to have to train harder. I only have two days this week to train before my 8K on Thanksgiving, considering one day will be a rest day. The Friday after Thanksgiving, I also have a 5K. The course will be flat and fast, so I hope I can come close to a PR.
